Yep you can go to your profile, then profile information and scroll down a bit and make yourself an avatar.

EDIT: and make sure you save that got me once or twice lol!

I wish there was a way to make a link to this active when i start wow (you know how you first get a popup that can take you to various wow internet resources...in there). Because so far, I only think to check the forum after I'm already logged in...
