NEW GROUP CALENDAR. INSTALL NOW!

My other guild uses the WoW addon 'Group Calendar' for raid sign-ups.
This addon uses almost no memory and will not cause lag! WE will use this addon becuz
1. Have everyone interested in running be able to sign-up.
2. Allows the raid leaders to see who signed up first and therefore make a tentative grp.
3. Allows the raid leaders to work out a standby/overflow list for those who sign up for raids but sign up late.
4. More options than the In Game Calendar.

Everyone please install this calendar and follow the directions i listed below. We will use this addon to organize raid sign-ups etc.


Installation:

The easiest way to install Group Calendar is to use WoW Matrix.(www.wowmatrix.com)
1. Download, install, and then run WoW Matrix
2. Click on the Tab named 'Get More AddOns'
3. Type 'group calendar' in the search box
4. Highlight the addon in the list (don't get the preview version 5!)
5. Click the 'Install' button in the upper right corner.

The other way to install Group Calendar is to manually download and install it.
You can manually download the addon by clicking here.
Download the most recent version 4... NOT version 5 !

Setup:
After loading the addon, log into the game, and then left click on the Calendar.
Click the Setup tab at the bottom.
Change the settings to 'Manual', and turn on the checkbox for 'Use Guild Data Channel'.
Then click on the Connect button to synchronise the calendar.


Troubleshooting:

If you are not seeing events on the calendar after doing the setup steps,
check the version number at the top of the first tab...
...you should be on version 4.. NOT version 5 !
If you still cannot get the calendar to show data, contact a guild officer.


Using the Calendar:

To sign up for an event:
Click on the day of the event to open a window of that day's events.
Click on the Event in the list, to see who is attending.
Click on the Event Tab at the bottom, and check the box 'Yes! I am attending'.
(The Event creator will change you to Accepted, Standby, or Not Attending)

To avoid confusion, please sign up for this week's raid under the Calendar tab on this forum on my post for "Naxx 4-1 4-2" The guild board will download and review this addon and see if it works for all of our needs--which include:

1) trying to create alternate raiding lists so that those who miss one week get priority in the next week and
2) providing a method for those who need a particular boss to loot to get access to that boss if they can't run the entire raid.

Hmmm...I've run in to a problem with "Group Calendar." When I went to download it, it said that it was no longer available for public distribution. Seems the author is taking a stand against the new Blizz policy regarding ownership of addons.

Anyone else have this problem?

yeah the addon is no longer publicly available...but theres an option that those that have the addon currently could zip the package and send it through email...I downloaded it awhile back and it might be up to date and would be willing to distribute it if it is working...

Try going here and downloading the link...you'll need an extract program like winzip or 7zip to open it as its a .rar type file. After opening it, put it in your WoW directory under Interface\Addons.

It's so far working for me, unless nobody has posted an event...if they have then this isn't working...

but on the offchance, this is a place to get it.

I posted an event for tomorrow so that peeps can check if its working if they want.
